Senior UI/UX Designer

Position Overview

Microservice Solutions GmbH seeks a Senior UI/UX Designer to create exceptional user experiences for custom web and mobile applications. This fully remote position requires a strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design, visual design excellence, and the ability to translate business requirements into intuitive interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design process from research and ideation to high-fidelity mockups and prototypes
• Conduct user research, create user personas, and develop user journey maps
• Design wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI mockups using Figma
• Create and maintain design systems including component libraries, style guides, and design tokens
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business objectives and user needs
• Work closely with frontend developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs
• Conduct usability testing and incorporate feedback into design iterations
• Ensure designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and responsive design principles
• Present design concepts and rationale to clients and internal stakeholders
• Establish and maintain visual design standards across multiple projects
• Create design documentation including specifications, annotations, and interaction guidelines
• Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional UI/UX design experience for web and mobile applications
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma; experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design process and visual design excellence
• Deep understanding of user research methodologies and usability testing
• Proficiency in creating wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes
• Experience designing and maintaining design systems and component libraries
• Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first design approach
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and frontend development constraints
• Excellent visual design skills with strong typography, color theory, and layout abilities
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills
• Ability to receive and incorporate feedback constructively
• Fluent in English (written and verbal); German proficiency is advantageous
• Legal authorization to work in Switzerland or EU

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing for B2B SaaS applications or enterprise software
• Knowledge of design tokens and integration with development workflows
• Familiarity with design handoff tools and developer collaboration (Zeplin, Figma Dev Mode)
• Experience with motion design and micro-interactions
• Understanding of design thinking methodologies and workshop facilitation
• Background in branding and visual identity design
• Experience conducting remote user research and usability testing
• Knowledge of Swiss design principles and European design sensibilities
